Brigitte

Senior Certified Pilates Instructor

Background

The moment Brigitte first felt Pilates in her body she knew she was home. Brigitte has been passionate about movement both professionally and personally as a dancer, musical theater actress, and as a model. Brigitte’s love of Pilates centers around how it shapes you in mind-body-spirit by creating strength, confidence, flexibility and a sounder, more empowered self.
Brigitte discovered Pilates as a client in 1994 at Mari Winsor’s West Hollywood Studio. This experience gave her the inspiration and courage to open West Los Angeles’s first Spinning and Pilates Studio in 1997.
The success of Brigitte’s first studio enabled her to expand her studio to include Pilates, spinning and dance and move to Venice where she resided for the last 20 years. The community built within those four walls is a treasure she holds close to her heart today and has held her strength through the peaks and valleys of being a woman entrepreneur and former small business owner.
Brigitte has a BA in social psychology from UCLA and Pilates certification from The Physical Mind Institute. She has immersed herself in hip, lumbar, shoulder stabilization, pre/postnatal workshops. Brigitte has had the good fortune of studying with both first generation Joseph Pilates classical Master Instructors who are known as the ‘Pilates elders’ and second generation Master Instructors. From these elders Brigitte learned to blend the art and scientific principles of Pilates and continues to evolve and fine-tune her practice.
Brigitte encourages her clients to explore the inner connection between breath and conscious movement in an attempt to deepen their sense of wellness in health and fitness.
Brigitte has been fortunate enough to work with many wonderful people throughout her career, including actors & actresses, dancers, models, athletes and musicians and has even traveled globally to keep her clients fit! She looks forward to getting to know the San Francisco Maiden Lane Pilates Community and is excited to call it her new home.

Fact. I'm obsessed with Maiden Lane Studios. Not in the creepy, restraining order type of way...but in the go 6-times a week type of way. I'll be honest, I never truly got the whole barre craze...until coming here. The classes are amazing (to the credit of the kick-ass instructors), and the studio is absolutely beautiful.

Maiden Lane Studios is the absolute best for Pilates and Barre Classes in San Francisco. I was introduced to the studio last year through lululemon and so glad I found my go-to place for an incredible strength training workout. It's like you're in someone's living room as the decor and feel of the place is so gorgeous and inviting.

I've tried other barre classes in the city and felt bored because they seemed the same, class after class. Not here. Every class challenges you and each instructor has something great to offer. I also LOVE that they offer more than just barre. Yoga, check. Pilates, check. It's a dream studio come true.

Beautiful, uber clean and most importantly an amazing talented and caring staff to make your every goal a reality. I have some very specific needs and have been challenged and accommodated beyond my expectations. Would never consider anywhere else...They create a supportive and positive environment unlike any other studio I've tried. Love it here!

Wow. I'm *STILL* feeling pumped 4 hours after my frist Booty Barre class this morning! This studio is fantastic and booty barre is seriously fun. I'd definitely recommend taking the 8:30am class with Naimah. She's an awesome teacher and totally kept me motivated throughout the class (even when it was kicking my ass). Excited to make visits here a regular part of my workout week!
