The Instructors at Maiden Lane Studios
Ramona found yoga as a way to balance her hectic life as a young attorney. First introduced to yoga in the 90’s, she began a daily practice in 2008 to support her busy and active lifestyle. Ramona’s love for the practice grew as she learned that the study of yoga, and with it the discovery of the mind and body, could last more than a lifetime. This led her to deepen her study of yoga through a comprehensive teacher training at The Mindful Body in San Francisco. It was at this time that Ramona began Mysore style Ashtanga, Iyengar and meditation practices that continue to bring awareness and philosophical insight to her study.
Ramona teaches a stimulating, alignment-focused Vinyasa yoga class that is invigorating and approachable. She hopes to help her students cultivate strength and openness while encouraging focus, ease and connection.
Ramona completed her comprehensive Pilates training through Balanced Body. She teaches a challenging Pilates class with attention to detail and alignment while also encouraging her students to have fun.
Why I Teach
Yoga, Barre and Pilates gave me the tools to lead a more fulfilling and happy life. By teaching in a safe and supportive environment, I hope to share these tools I’ve learned so that others can also benefit from these practices.
“I was vacationing in SF and dropped into this studio on a whim, wearing slightly stretchy cords and a t-shirt, damp from the rain. I had nothing else with me to wear. I guess I just felt called in. The quaint street, historic building and graceful rooms have a lovely European feel–almost like Maiden Lane in London ;).
“I was greeted by Ramona, who swiftly adjusted to my unorthodox appearance and request. Yes, actually she could do a private right then. I’m pretty much a beginner, I have never taken a private, and she adapted almost immediately–spontaneously creating a teaching experience out of thin air.
“I got so much out of it! I came away with some critical clarifications that I have used every day since and which have pushed me forward in ways I could not have imagined.
“I’m grateful she went with the moment, and also grateful for the choices she made in how she saw me, and what she corrected and communicated. Seems like a quality place with a sincere mission.”
