Pilates Mat Express with Michelle, starting September 15th
Tuesdays at 9:00 am – 9:45 am
Join Michelle every Tuesday morning for a full body workout in just 45 minutes. Pilates mat focuses on the principles of core strength, the use of breath, body control, precision, and flow of functional movement. Expect a mix of classical and contemporary movements, while feeling sections of your core you never knew existed. All levels welcome. Sign up here.
NEW CLASS / Yoga Foundations with Ramona, starting September 17th
Thursdays at 9:00 am – 9:55 am
This slow-paced, alignment focused class builds the foundation for a Vinyasa flow practice. By bringing awareness to the subtler details of Sun Salutations and the various standing and seated postures, this class offers the new yoga practitioner the space to learn and grow, and the advanced practitioner the opportunity to refine and get deeper into the poses. September Workshop Classes
If you haven’t already reserved your space, don’t miss our special 75 minute barre and yoga workshops this month. These classes are included in monthly plans or can be reserved with group class packages. Better Barre and Yoga Foundations are great classes for beginners, and for brushing up on technique while getting an awesome workout in.
Better Barre™ (Basics Workshop) with Kelsey
September 19th, 12:15 pm – 1:30 pm
Get better at barre. This 75 minute workshop style class helps you master the various barre movements you’ll find in class and make sure you get the most out of your barre workouts. Class combines an educational portion explaining correct alignment of each movement, and then puts these barre principles into practice with a 50 minute class. Great for both beginners to barre and veterans alike, Better Barre (Basics) will give you a better understanding of a barre practice while toning and sculpting the entire body. Sign up here.
Yoga Foundations (Workshop & Practice) with Michelle D.
Create a strong foundation for your practice. This 75 minute, workshop-style class goes over fundamentals of a Vinyasa flow class, including Sun Salutation A and seating and standing poses. Yoga Foundations is great for those who are new to yoga, want to learn more about yoga, or fine-tune their practice. With better knowledge of proper form and alignment, advance your practice and make gains in your strength and flexibility. Suitable for beginners and advanced practitioners. Sign up here.

Farewell to Stephanie: We are extremely sad to announce that Stephanie, who has been with Maiden Lane for the past three years, is cutting back on teaching hours and leaving the studio. We are going to sincerely miss her compassionate personality, wealth of knowledge, and fantastic classes. Stephanie’s last day is Thursday, September 17th. Scarlett is the newest member of the MLS Pilates instructor staff. Scarlett completed her comprehensive Pilates certifications through Balanced Body University, Mercury Fitness, and Peak Pilates, and has been training and teaching in San Francisco since 2009. Scarlett’s study of anatomy and health education affords her the ability to deeply understand her clients’ concerns and work with a wide range of conditions. Her consultative approach begins with goals and needs assessment, and continues with a flexible yet rigorous program for each client. Her years of teaching and training also include boot camps, TRX and corporate health and wellness seminars. Enroll in her detailed and challenging classes every Tuesday at 5:30 pm, starting Sept. 22nd.

Their next Seasons tour is Saturday, Oct. 3rd at Free Spirit Farms & Sierra Orchards Walnut Orchard in Winters, CA. The farm’s energetic founder, Toby Hastings, has been recently described by Zagat as one of “SF Bay Area’s Food-World Up-and-Comers.” This petite farm provides fare for over 40 of SF’s finest restaurants. The field trip begins at Nopa with fresh pastries and coffee, and then proceeds with an eco-friendly shuttle to the farm. Tour the property of blackberry bushes, tomato and pepper fields, meet the pasture raised chickens, goats, and pigs, and see a live walnut harvest. Trou Normand Chef and Charcutier, Sal Cracco will provide an elegant family-style lunch with local wine pairings and produce from the farm.
