Pregnancy Fitness, Movement, and Wellness Workshop with Prenatal Pilates, Barre, and Yoga

A first-of-its-kind workshop for expecting mothers

What: This pregnancy fitness workshop will help you learn in a supportive & intimate environment with certified experts on how to stay healthy and keep active during pregnancy. The workshop will include prenatal Pilates, yoga, and barre workouts with Kelsey Wiedenhoefer & Michelle Duncan Lowenberg, who will guide you through safe movement for throughout your pregnancy. Elika Aird, Pre & Postnatal Doula will share tips on nurturing the body during pregnancy and preparing the body for birth.
When: Saturday, June 3rd, 2017 | 12:30 – 3:30 pm (3 hours); Light snacks and beverages will be provided

This workshop is appropriate for women during all stages of pregnancy, as well as those who are planning for pregnancy in the future.*
Learn in a supportive & intimate environment with certified experts on how to stay healthy and keep active during pregnancy:
  • How to move safely yet effectively during each phase of pregnancy
  • How Pilates, barre, and yoga are especially beneficial to expecting moms, helping to strengthen and support the body for upcoming changes during pregnancy
  • How to nurture your body before and during pregnancy, including nutrition and supplement recommendations, womb and pelvic floor health, and self-care and stress reduction

*Prerequisites: Please make sure you have permission from your health care provider before beginning any exercise program while pre- or post-natal.

Minimum Registrants: Please note that this workshop will only take place if we have a minimum of 6 registrants by May 20, 2017. If the workshop does not have enough signups by May 20, 2017, we will reschedule the workshop for a future date and refund any registration fees in full.

Cancellation Policy: Workshop enrollment must be cancelled by May 20, 2017 for a studio account credit. Cancellations made on May 21, 2017 or after will result in forfeiture of the workshop fee.

Kelsey Wiedenhoefer

Master Certified Pilates & Barre Instructor

Kelsey is the Director of Instruction at Maiden Lane Studios and has been teaching Pilates for over 8 years. Through her tenure she has worked with countless pre and postnatal clients and has taken multiple pre-natal workshops with both a Pilates and barre focus. Kelsey enjoys working with women through all of the phases of their pregnancy. She is passionate about helping them feel empowered regardless of what trimester they are, and helping them reach their internal and external goals through movement once the baby comes.

Michelle Duncan Lowenberg

Certified Pre & Postnatal Yoga Instructor

Michelle has been teaching yoga in the Bay Area for more than 6 years and has thousands of hours of experience teaching privates and group classes. She is a ERYT 500 yoga instructor and a registered prenatal instructor, certified by Jane Austin’s world renowned Mama Tree prenatal and postnatal training. Michelle has a passion for prenatal and postnatal yoga and helping mom connect to her own power during this beautiful time of her life. Her focus is to create a safe and supportive environment for prenatal and postnatal women to embrace the changes a woman undergoes while pregnant.

Elika Aird

Prenatal/Postpartum Doula & Certified Pre & Postnatal Yoga Instructor

Elika is a Certified Yoga Teacher, Prenatal/Postpartum Doula with with almost 20 years sharing her passion for health + wellness and working with people of every population. She offers various styles of yoga and meditation to reduce stress, balancing mind and body throughout studios around the Bay Area, including Google, Salesforce and Stanford. She is a Prana Vinyasa-trained instructor and specializes in Pre+Postnatal Yoga and offers Birth Education classes, workshops and retreats. Elika’s classes infuse yoga, dance, pilates, and ancient wisdom to uplift women and inspire them to stay juicy and vibrant throughout every stage of life.
In 2005, Elika completed both her 200-hr certification at Peachtree Yoga Center and her Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training with Stephanie Keach at Asheville Yoga Center. To deepen her knowledge of prenatal yoga, Elika completed the Whole Birth® Yoga Teacher Training, which incorporates the practice of mindfulness and yoga to help bring greater well-being during the childbearing year. To share her love of the birthing process and her desire to support women, Elika became trained as a Birth Doula with Doulas of North America (DONA) in 2008.
