We are excited to be offering LifeStretch, a new 45 minute group class every Wednesday at 4:40 pm – 5:25 pm taught by Pat Benstead, who is also a Level 2 Fascial Stretch Therapist. LifeStretch was developed by the founders of Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST). If you’ve been interested in, or already do, FST, LifeStretch has a similar foundation to FST and is a great complement to it. Any group class packages can be used to attend this class, and it’s included in the Unlimited Group Class Membership.
We all know that stretching is a key component in maintaining a healthy body, and that we often fail to make time for it. Without proper and regular stretching, muscles shorten, tighten, and imbalances and asymmetries can take hold in the body. The effects of inflexibility are cumulative, and long term tightness of the muscles restrict the flexibility of joints, causing fatigue, pain, the likelihood of strains and injury, and stress to the general health of your body.
Whether you work out regularly (especially intense workouts or workouts with repetitive motion) or sit or stand for long periods during the day, regular stretching will keep you more mobile, strong, and happy.
LifeStretch is a mobility-stretch class designed to help you become more flexible in body, mind, and spirit. Class begins standing and proceeds to mat work with a variety of flowing and pain-free mobilizations and stretches. LifeStretch uniquely uses self-traction to create space in joints and greater ease of movement, while avoiding pinching joints and to yield bigger gains in mobility. You’ll be rewarded with not only feeling and seeing a progressive increase in movement with ease, but you’ll also experience the sense of physical, mental and emotional wellbeing that accompanies it.
